ISKCON New Mayapur is committed to Srila Prabhupada’s vision, for farm communities to show what is “simple living and high thinking”. Living in respect with the environment is now seen as a need in addressing the actual issues predicted by Srila Prabhupad, as climate-change. Climate scientists and land planners worldwide are now encouraging such projects, they understand the need to build climate-resilient villages in a comprehensive, holistic way.
They see the value of such a model to foresee the challenges and negative consequences of climatic variations and to take steps to withstand them. It includes a variety of projects such to reduce carbon footprint, enhance carbon trapping, preserve, restore and maintain complex biodiverse ecosystems. The focus is on building a sustainable, circular, agro bio-economy. Bringing about lasting transformation in the way the society lives – all for the better.
This is a grassroot level initiative that can contribute to inspire many more lasting changes and thereby move towards a better future.
